OpenAI is teasing new hardware… for Codex

OpenAI teased a square-shaped Codex-related hardware device on X and said it will launch on July 15, in partnership with Work Louder, a maker of mechanical keyboards and macro pads with mappable keys, dials, and switches. It appears to be a shortcut-focused accessory for the AI coding tool rather than the separate Jony Ive device, suggesting OpenAI is extending Codex into dedicated physical controls.
OpenAI is releasing some sort of device related to its AI-powered coding tool, Codex, on July 15th. In a video posted to X on Monday, OpenAI shows a square-shaped device with several buttons, alongside the caption, "Your favorite Codex shortcuts are getting an upgrade."
